Skardu’s Mohammad Ali Sadpara has become the country’s only mountaineer to have climbed seven peaks of over 8,000 meters in the world, the Inter-Services Public Relations said on Wednesday.
Renowned mountaineer Mohammad Ali Sadpara of Skardu, climbed 8,485-metre Makalu peak on 24 May in Nepal, the fifth highest mountain in the world. Sadpara becoming the only Pakistani mountaineer to have climbed seven peaks of over 8,000 meters in the world. The expedition was facilitated by Pakistan Army.
Mohammad Ali Sadpara reached Nepal for the Makalu expedition in the first week of April.
He has climbed five, over 8,000 meters high peaks in Pakistan, including K2 (8,611m), Gasherbrum I(8,080m), Gasherbrum II (8,034m), Nanga Parbat (8,126m) and Broad Peak (8,051m).
Ali Sadpara is the first Pakistani to have climbed Nanga Parbat on Feb 26, 2016 with Alex Txikon of Spain and Simone Moro from Italy.
